Exterior Insulation and Finish System

EIFS is a multi-layered cladding system that provides exceptional insulation, moisture control, and design flexibility. It begins with a water-resistant barrier, followed by rigid foam insulation, a fiberglass-reinforced base coat, and an acrylic finish layer. This system reduces energy loss by wrapping the building in continuous insulation, creating a comfortable and efficient living environment year-round.

EIFS is also known for its smooth, modern finish and wide range of design options — including textures that mimic traditional stucco or even stone. When installed correctly, EIFS systems are both beautiful and highly durable.

Why it matters: Greatly reduces energy costs, allows for flexible exterior design, and protects the building envelope from moisture and weather damage.

Our Process:

1. Sealing: Doors and windows are sealed with 3M membrane (4″ & 6″).
2. Flashings: We install regular, reverse, and side flashings for water protection.
3. Waterproofing-HydroFlex: WOT membrane is applied over the sheathing.
4. Insulation: Styrofoam panels are installed with base coat adhesive.
5. Rasping: The surface is rasped for smoothness and bonding.
6. Mesh Reinforcement: Red fiberglass mesh is embedded in the base coat.
7. Second Base Coat: A second layer is added for strength and finish.
8. Acrylic Finish: We apply the final textured acrylic coat in your color of choice.
