Cement Board

The Cement Board System is a high-strength, impact-resistant cladding solution that combines rigid cement board panels with an insulating backing and an acrylic finish. It is engineered for maximum durability, especially in high-risk areas prone to impact, moisture, or pest damage.

Unlike EIFS, which uses foam insulation, cement board offers a solid, non-compressible surface that is ideal in areas prone to hailstorms and woodpecker activity. This makes it one of the most reliable options for Alberta homes and buildings.

Our Process: 

1. Sealing: Doors and windows are sealed with 3M tape (4″ & 6″) for moisture protection.
2. Flashing Installation: We install regular, reverse, and side flashings for water drainage.
3. Moisture Barriers: Two layers of white paper are installed as vapor barriers.
4. Joint Preparation: Expansion joints and plaster stops are installed for movement control.
5. Cement Board Installation: Cement board panels are mounted securely across the surface.
6. Foam Filling: Gaps between panels are filled with spray foam for stability.
7. Joint Reinforcement: We embed Unite 3″ mesh in base coat over joints to prevent cracks.
8. Full Mesh Embedding: Red fiberglass mesh is applied over the entire surface with base coat.
9. Acrylic Finish: Final acrylic coat is applied in the desired color and texture.
